Hotel Thoughts

Two Hotels…One Great Vacation (Part 2)

This post is a continuation of my review and thoughts on the Embassy Suites and the Hilton Myrtle Beach resort. In my last post I explained why I am writing about two hotels in one post and I wrote about the Embassy Suites hotel. In post I will be continuing with my thoughts on the Hilton Beach Resort.

The Hilton hotel on Kingston Plantation in North Myrtle Beach is truly spectacular. The hotel is located steps away from the beach just like the embassy suites. While both the Hilton and the Embassy Suites share certain amenities they are completely different in every other way. The Hilton has a completely different atmosphere and vibe than the Embassy Suites. the lobby is very modern yet you still get the feeling that you are sitting in your own living room at home. While the lobby is on the ground floor its open design make it feel huge, it is a giant open atrium so can look up to all the floors and see all the floors, there are even nice skylights so when you look up you can see the blue sky during the day and the bright shining stars at night. The rooms on every floor open to the open atrium meaning that when you exit your room the first thing you see is the spectacular view of the magnificent lobbyHH_lobbysidevw_3_1270x560_FitToBoxSmallDimension_Center.jpg

The hotel has many things to do. You can grab a quick bite at the café in the lobby, you can lounge at one of the two outdoor pools, you can relax on the beach to the soothing sounds of the ocean or you can treat yourself to a soothing spa treatment at the Royale Day Spa. Of course like the Embassy Suites, since it is part of Kingston Plantation you will have access to all of the nine pools on the property as well as to Splash Water Park. There are plenty of things to do off grounds as well. The Hilton is just a short drive form all of the attractions, shopping and golf courses that Myrtle Beach has to offer.

The rooms at this hotel are very modern and clean, however they are regular hotel rooms without the separate sitting room area like at the Embassy Suites. Each and every room has a private balcony that either offer you a direct ocean view or it will face the forest in the front of the hotel. The architectural design of the building is unique and interesting. As you can see in the photo below the balconies are staggered so that each one has an unobstructed view of the ocean while at the same time offers you privacy from the one next to you. I love the design and ot looks fantastic from the beach, unfortunately the photo does not do it justice.

This hotel is in a private complex called Kingston plantation I went more into details about the complex in the recent post (Two Hotels…one great vacation part 1) so go check that out if you haven’t yet done so.

My favorite things about this hotel is its design and location.

The design of the hotel is truly beautiful to behold. With the open atrium design you get a breathtaking view of the lobby when you look down from your room. The open design makes the hallways outside of your room feel light and airy unlike the closed in and claustrophobic feeling you get is many other hotels. You can see the entire floor and all of the other floors when you exit your room. As I mentioned before I also love the exterior design with the way the balconies are arranged and how they each offer an unobstructed direct ocean view.

The location is by far the best part of why you should come and stay for at either one of these two fantastic hotels.. The hotel is located in North Myrtle Beach so it’s not in the center of the tourist area or Myrtle Beach. This means it is much quieter and more relaxing than staying at the city center near the Sky wheel. However, the hotel is only a short ten minute drive to the hustle and bustle of that area if that is what you desire. The hotel is also only a short drive to Broadway on the Beach, Barefoot Landing and Tanger Outlets. Both the Embassy Suites and the Hilton are in the closed gated complex, only registered guests of the hotels or a resident or guest at one of the other buildings in the complex or at the mini houses and villas can enter.

I love both of these  hotels. if someone would ask me to choose which one is better I would not be able to answer since both hotels are amazing.  If I could be in two places at one time I would stay in both at the same time!

Thanks for reading my first two-part post and don’t forget to check out the Hilton’s website for more info and more details on this great beachfront resort.
