Hilton is launching a new hotel brand with smaller, customizable rooms that will appear in locations and will have more affordable rates. Motto by Hilton will be McLean’s 15th brand. With Motto’s introduction, Hilton is entering into the micro-hotel industry. The average Motto guest room will be 163 square feet, which is half the size of a room at a Hampton Inn by Hilton.

The first Motto will be a 104 room hotel in Marylebone, London. Construction is scheduled to begin in January and open by 2020. Other micro-sized hotel brands like Yotel, CitizenM will have competition once the first hotel opens.
