The world renown Marriott International is planning on opening forty new hotels within its luxury brands next year. Once completed, Marriott International will then have a total of four hundred and twenty two hotel locations in over sixty countries. Some of the luxury brands in the hotel group, like W Hotels, will see more than half of its U.S. properties undergo major renovation as well. The W Hotel Brand will also be returning to Australia with their new Brisbane hotel. Plans are in the pipeline to also open in Sydney and Melbourne as well. The W Hotel Brand is also expanding to Tel Aviv, Dubai, Panama, and Costa Rica.
The luxury collection plans to open twelve new resorts around the world including six to be located in Europe. The JW Marriott brand will begin renovations on approximately fifty percent of their resorts. The brand is also opening up a JW Marriott in Nashville in 2018. The luxury brand St Regis will be opening in locations such as Cairo, and Amman. The Ritz Carlton will be opening a desert resort in Dubai as well as renovating almost half of their resorts.
There are many more hotel brands that either opening in new locations or performing renovations on their existing properties, however, 2018 is just the beginning for the hotel giant Marriott. With over 200 luxury hotel properties in the pipeline this is just the start of Marriott’s rise to be the industry’s dominant player.
