Say goodbye to the “Do Not Disturb” at Disney World Resorts

Disney is modifying their security policy at their hotels beginning with the three monorail hotels near Magic Kingdom. Guests staying the Grand Floridan, Polynesian, and Contemporary Resorts  no longer have “Do Not Disturb” signs for their guest room doors. Instead, they were replaced with “Room Occupied” signs. Along with the signs Disney has implemented a new policy where the “Cast Members” are required to enter each guest room once a day regardless of whether or not the “Room Occupied” sign is on the door. If they see the room occupied sign, the Cast Members will knock on the door and ask to come in prior to entering the room. Disney implemented these new policies as a result of the recent Las Vegas mass shooting. The room used in the Las Vegas shooting had a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door and as a result, the workers of the hotel bypassed the room.
