Positive: Beautiful location along the Periyar river. We loved waking up to see the water and nature. Helpful in arranging for a cab to take us sightseeing.

Negative: Staff helpfulness is inconsistent: some very nice and helpful people such as the kitchen personnel who arranged for an earlier breakfast for us given we had an early flight, and some other staff that made us uncomfortable - the pictures in the booking showed an upstairs room, but the receptionist asked for more money stating that it would be an upgrade (it was not). In general that person seemed to behave strangely once they saw a foreign passport (asked for a lot of personal information saying it was mandatory, although NO other hotel in India had ever asked for that in several years of traveling there). Relatively clean but still stained sheets. We only had 1 towel for 2 people, never got it despite asking.
