Summary: The room was small, but fine for me as a solo traveller. They had a good complimentary breakfast spread every morning, including some very fresh bread and good options for lighter and heavier breakfasts. The location was convenient enough - about 10 - 15 minutes' walk from the main city area and train / bus station. Also, being a ship, it had a unique and distinctive character. Unfortunately, the whole stay for me was let down by what happened on the last night. Incredulously, for my entire stay there (granted, across Christmas), the hotel seemed content with having one person run front-of-house (check-ins, check-outs, etc.), the restaurant bar (which was connected to check-in) AND the kitchen. On my last night, I ordered food from the bar (where I had to wait 15 minutes for service) and I was amazed when the lady told me she might struggle to MAKE the food, because she had to process 40+ check-ins that night. She charged me anyway, but was then immediately swamped by those check-ins and maybe 90 minutes later, I got up from my table, had to go to the check-in desk, wait in line behind check-ins for another 15 minutes, to ask for a refund, which she gave me. It's not her fault of course - she was overwhelmed and rightly stressed. But why the hotel management felt this was an acceptable thing to do, I'll never know. Probably wanted to cut costs. Either way, I would encourage people to think twice if hotel service is something you value.
